I have a thing for smells. I’ve got a keen nose (I’ve identified many a water leak in houses thanks to noticing a wet plaster or damp wood smell. I’m also very good at detecting gas leaks,I wish I was joking but I’m not, I guess it counts as a talent? 😂), scents evoke lot of memories for me and I just like it better when things smells nice.
We switched from using candles to wax melts around 4 years ago as we were always having issues with sooty marks on the ceilings and I just wasn’t impressed with the scent throw, it’s safe to say that since then we’ve become a bit obsessed. We have at least 7 wax burners around the house and have them on for a few hours a day which means we get through a lot of melts, luckily I’ve found a fantastic small business to buy them from and an even better way to try out new scents each month thanks to the Teddy Eva Scents Wax Melt Subscription Box!

Teddy Eva Scents
Teddy Eva Scents launched in February 2020 and is run by Ross and Rachel, who you might know as @isabloguk and @isamum on Instagram – They share a lot of what goes on behind the scenes and how they run the business around family and work-life on the Teddy Eva Instagram. They currently offer two different wax products, clam shells and teddy bags in a variety of scents but what I think really sets them apart is the amount of thought that goes into the look of the products. They design a unique logo for each scent they make and pay such attention to detail when it comes to the colouring and special extras they add into the melts. A perfect example of this is one of their latest creations called Starry Night, have a look at this IGTV video they made showing the process, all of their melts do this amazing swirly thing when they melt and its a really nice touch.
What is the Teddy Eva Club
The Teddy Eva Club is a monthly wax melt subscription box costing £14.99 a month – Each month you receive 4 x 85g Clamshell wax melts in an amazing range of themed scents and a collection of extra goodies thrown in.
The melts are different each month and include at least 1 exclusive brand new scent that is unavailable for general sale until at least the following month. As a subscriber you also get added to the ‘Close Friends’ list on Instagram where you can vote for new scents to be released, access to giveaways and extra behind the scene content (which I find really interesting…but I am aware that I have some odd niche interests around small businesses and how they run 😂)
What was in this months box?
This months box was beach themed and the 4 clamshell wax melts were – Sea Breeze, Rock Pool, Slated Fudge, Ice Cream. We also received a bag of bath salts (that looked like sand!) plus a selection of sweets and Guylian seashell chocolates.
What are the wax melts like?
Fantastic! The scent throw is amazing, the last longer than a lot of others I have tried and seem easier to clean up too. The attention to detail with the wax designs is a lovely touch also, take the Ice Cream clamshell pictured above – they could have quite easily poured this all as one colour but instead decided to split it into the cone and ice cream colours (and they even added strawberry and raspberry sauce ‘drizzle’ on the top) and add some extra sparkle to it with the glitter in the bottom – it’s stuff like that that makes their melts extra special.
Previous months boxes
May – The Sweet Shop Box – included Pear Drop, Rhubarb and Custard, Lemon Sherbert, Jelly Beans and a collection of retro sweets (which were very much appreciated that week as I still hadn’t really been out the house since the start of lockdown!)
June – Journey to the Spa Box – included Dream Dusk, Ambience, Tranquil Tropics and Mellow Morning and an array of bath (or shower) goodies such as a bar of handmade soap, bath salts and 3 mini bath bombs.
