If you’re new around here then Welcome! I’m Charlotte and I love plants and growing stuff, if you aren’t new around here then , yes…I am talking about plants again #sorrynotsorry
The other month I got sent a bundle of seeds to play around with from SowSeeds.co.uk. SowSeeds are a family run business located in Yorkshire Wolds who offer the UK’s biggest online range of green manure seeds (not sure what Green Manure is? Have a look at this article, but basically its like feeding your soil its vitamins and minerals!).
They were kind enough to send me a great selection of seeds including some Microgreens which can be grown any time of year inside on a windowsill or bright spot, (I did some Insta stories showing how quickly mine grew) they are perfect for teaching kids about how seeds sprout and plants grow AND they are incredibly tasty!
I also got a few packets of veg seeds that can be sown outside later in the year, the garden makeover has meant that I’ve not had a space to grow vegetables for a few years and I was desperately missing having some type of veg growing in the garden.
I planted my veg seeds up in one of these Keter Easy Grow Raised Planters. I ordered it from Amazon after searching for a taller planter with legs, this one is extra snazzy as it has an integrated watering system full with a reservoir at the bottom to prevent root decay, an over-watered indicator and a little plug at the bottom that you can pull out to release excess water! (If you want to have a look at any of the garden tools or products that I really rate and love using then you can pop over to my Amazon Storefront and select the Gardening section and have a browse, if you buy anything via those links then I earn a small referral commission)
I had little sprouts and shoots come up after just 5 days and just over 2-3 weeks later I had a flourishing mini veg patch! On the left I’ve got Radishes, in the middle is Chard and on the right is Lettuce. I was surprised at just how much I could fit in this planter. I sowed a good few seeds just in case but they all germinated and sprouted so I had to do quite a bit of thinning out!
SowSeeds were also kind enough to send me two seed collections to giveaway to you guys!
