It was not a good week. Period pains and hormones really took their toll on me this week and a lot of it was spent sleeping and doing low energy jobs.
I always get frustrated when I have days like this because I feel like I should be doing more (especially since I’m at home) but I just don’t have the brain capacity, I get very foggy-headed, or energy for it so I just do what I can do and know that it’ll get back to normal by the next week.
Tuesday 12th May
I spent a good few hours sitting in the garden today with my Kindle whilst the painkillers kicked in and made me feel a bit more human. Luna has been doing a very good job at being my nurse dog and has just sat quietly on my lap all day, not even nudging me to pet her, just sitting and snuggling.
Jodie and I decided to set the pool up, we picked a spot near the middle of the ‘lawn’ and I chucked the hose in it to start filling up – it took nearly 6 hours to fill! Let’s hope the weather stays nice so we can actually use it.
Wednesday 13th May
I ordered some bamboo tables off of eBay the other day as we realised there isn’t really anywhere to put a drink/phone/kindle/sunglasses when you’re sitting outside. These fit in perfectly with our garden style and we’ll have the smaller one by the arbour, the medium next to the bamboo bench and the larger one on the decking.
Thursday 14th May
My Bakker.com order arrived today! I decided that I wanted to train jasmine up some of the fences so I ordered Star Jasmine (as it’s evergreen and has a lovely scent) and some bamboos plants so that I could create a bit of a screen behind the bamboo bench.
Monday 18th May
We took a socially distanced trip to the garden centre today. I picked up a few alpines to add into the stones in the Japanese area – I want to try and create a sort of mossy carpet look at the base of the water feature.
We also picked up these beautiful slate rocks, they are plum slate but have some amazing iridescent green and blue streaks in them 😍
