No real update from work this week other than they’ll let me know when to come back. I hate not having a definite time scale to work to but I guess that’s the way of the world at the moment.
Tuesday 5th May
I’ve spent the morning at the computer catching up on emails, I don’t know why but the day goes so much quicker when I’m focused on the computer, does anyone else find that?
It always frustrates me because even though I’m doing something productive I feel like I lose my day 😂
Maybe I’ve been off work for too long? 🤔
Wednesday 6th May
Today was my beautiful niece Phoebes 5th birthday 🎂
It was tough to not be able to go over and visit but we had a FaceTime call and she showed me what presents she’d got and all her balloons and cards.
Her favourite gift by far is the amazing desk and stool that my dad made for her, she LOVES colouring so now she has a place to keep all her books and pens.
I spent a fair amount of the morning working and then from lunchtime onwards was spent outside. I worked on the Japanese Garden a bit more and also planted up some of my veg into their final spots 🍅
We also managed to get the green tarpaulin onto the ‘lawn’ so now we’re as far as we can get with that job until lockdown ends.
Thursday 7th May
My little container veg garden is coming along nicely 😁
Most of the other bits have to wait until mid/end of May before they can go out. I’m hoping I get some more seeds come in the post soon as I just subscribed to @growyourownmag
Might pot up a few more flowers down there to attract more bees and insects 🐝
Friday 8th May
This photo came up on my Timehop today from 4 years ago, it seems so funny to think Phoebe was that tiny. Seeing it also makes me miss my pink hair.
I made a start on a new project today using the material the Yorkshire Fabric Shop sent me (I’ll be doing a full post on it soon). This is going to be a cushion for Fletcher’s new race car bed.
We had our first takeaway of the lockdown period…it was ok, not great, I think it just goes to show we can do without takeaways as I would have preferred a frozen pizza!
Saturday 9th May
More progress made on the cushions today, I adapted my design a bit from yesterday and added some zip tabs to make it neater – very pleased with how they are turning out.
I did my daily garden walkaround this afternoon and saw that one of the little pansies that I put into my hanging baskets (to replace some of the rubbish plugs I’ve been sent) had bloomed!
Sunday 10th May
What’s one of the perks of having your family run the amazing gift box biz BebeBoxes I hear you ask?
You get to try out all the tasty treats! Stephan sent this over the over day and I’m going to treat myself to the hot chocolate spoon tonight.
Monday 11th May
I finished the cushions and they turned out great even if I do say so myself! I think I’ve got my pattern perfected now so I just have to work through the pile of fabric I’ve got waiting to make a few more.
We’re supposedly getting a frost tonight,I don’t see it happening but I’d kick myself if we did and I didn’t cover stuff up, so I’ve been around the garden and wrapped anything tender in fleece. Goes to show why you shouldn’t plant stuff out too early, I must learn to be a more patient gardener!
