I’m not going to lie, this week has been tough, it’s been a combination of hormones and just dealing with the general crap-ness of the situation at the moment (I miss my family and my grandads funeral is coming up next week and it’s hard for me to process) so my diary is a bit sparse this week.
Someone shared this on Instagram the other day and it pretty much sums up how I’ve been feeling this week.
Tuesday and Wednesday were ‘hell zone’ kinda days.
Thursday 16th April
We’re at day 10 of furlough today and I’ve made a start on the ‘project’ work part of my list. I decided that we need some cushions in our corner arbour but as its an L-shape its a bit difficult to get one, so I found cushions on Amazon that were the perfect size so I can just stitch them together…
…except they came and they were not the right size, they were 3cm bigger than advertised meaning I had to take 2 cushions apart and ‘adapt’ them (I might do a post on how I did it) to fit the design, this required 6 hours of hand-stitching, it was a looong day! 😑
I took a break for lunch and made start on clearing the sideway, it’s become a bit of a dumping ground lately and I can’t find some tools that I need for the garden. I think it’s going to be a case of doing a bit in there each day to start making a dent on the clutter.
My most exciting update of the day by far is that I ordered the water feature I’ve been saving up for! It should arrive in the next few weeks (hopefully) and I’ll be able to make a proper start on the ‘Japanese’ area of the garden.
Friday 17th April
I’ve had a really nice day today, nothing too strenuous, just some pottering around. I made some little plant markers for veggies, still got ages to wait before they can be planted out but it was a fun little task to do whilst listening to some podcasts.
She sent peas and sweetcorn which had to rehydrate for a few hours and she also sent some carrot seeds. they’re all sown and sitting on the windowsill in propagators so we should have some seedlings within the week 👍
We pulled the tarpaulin off of the ‘lawn’ and I started weeding the edges, we were going to just re-lay the new green tarp on it again but instead, we’ve decided to dig out the area to the right depth in preparation for the artificial grass and then put the green tarp down to keep it weed free.
Monday 20th April
My 32nd Birthday, I’m not really a big fan of doing anything for my birthday so the fact that we’re in lockdown didn’t really affect it in any way. It’s been a bit of a ‘hell zone’ kinda day again and I’m anxious about grandads funeral tomorrow.
