One of the rooms in our houses that we so often overlook is our bathrooms. We create tranquil bedrooms as that is where we sleep. We design our ideal kitchens and dining areas as that is where the family congregate. Bathrooms are often at the bottom of the pile but they really shouldn’t be. A gorgeous bathroom can do wonders for the value of your property and you, as a person, using it. From long hot baths to power showers that wake you up in the morning, create a bathroom that you are not only proud of but works with your lifestyle too.
Baths & Basins
You might rip everything out of the room and create a new shell, so you can put your own stamp on the bathroom. Perhaps you want to move which wall the bath is on and where the basin fits? You might even consider altering the shape of the bathroom, maybe even moving a wall so you can have a slightly larger space. Wherever you want your basin and units and whatever layout you’re going for, think it through well and bring your ideas to life. Bathroom fitters will be able to give you ideas and also install things for you too.
Showers, Screens & Toilets
Maybe you want a shower installed too? Whether that is above the bath or in it’s own cubicle may depend on the space you have available. A power shower first thing in the morning can help get you ready for the day ahead. After a day at work, after your spinning class or after doing some dirty work in the garden, it can clean you off good and proper. Think about the type of screen you want installing and also where you want the toilet in your new bathroom. Remember, you need to be able to sit down comfortably on it so it needs to be positioned well.
A Splash of Colour
Your bathroom is a blank canvas. Adding some colour to the walls in terms of both tiles and paint is a great idea. Tranquil and relaxing colour palettes are perfect in this instance. You can also go down the neutral angle and inject colour via new fluffy towels, bath mats and wall art prints. This is a great idea if you fancy changing things up every now and then. It means you don’t have to get the paints out, you can simply replace your towels with new colours and create a brand new bathroom feeling.
How about adding a waterproof Bluetooth speaker to the room so you can lay back in the tub and enjoy some stress relief playlists? Don’t forget a radiator or towel warmer to add a bit of warmth. If you’re not a fan of cold tiles during those middle of the night toilet trips, you could even add some underfloor heating.
Now is the time to take control of your ideas and write down what you want from your new space. Your bathroom can be anything you want it to be, made to work for the lifestyle you have and the people in your family.
