Get yourself a video subscription
Unlimited access to hundreds of films and series for the price of a cinema ticket? You really can’t go wrong with a video subscription if you’re looking for budget entertainment every night. Add some snacks and you’ve got a home cinema experience at a fraction of the cost.
Play some online games
Families these days love to play cooperative video games such as Minecraft and Super Mario Maker. They’re an excellent distraction to keep kids occupied and you can always join in the fun thanks to their simple controls and easy-to-understand gameplay. However, if you ever want to have a bit of “adult” gaming fun, then there are mobile casino slots available if you’re feeling lucky. Just remember that you’re not playing to win money, but you’re paying to get a rush of fun and adrenaline with your friends. You could even gather around a table and player poker with your friends and put something on the line to make it more interesting.
Try backyard camping with a cheap tent
Tents are usually made to be sturdy in order to survive the elements, but if you’re just camping out in your backyard then you really don’t need to spend much money. Camping is a fantastic way to get out into nature (even if it’s just your garden) and it’s a fun family activity to enjoy with your kids. It’s nice and cool which makes it a great summer activity and there’s a surprisingly fun atmosphere about camping. You can cook marshmallows out in the backyard with a small portable grill and even bring a tablet to watch some cartoons or scary movies while you fall asleep. This certainly isn’t for everyone but it’s a good way to bond with your kids and enjoy a budget weekend.
Get a board game that lasts a long time
There are some excellent family board games that don’t cost much at all and can offer you endless replayability with your friends and family. If the game can last several evenings then that’s even better! Huddle around your dinner table with friends, a couple of drinks and some snacks–that’s all you need for a comfortable and budget night in. If you want something to really sink your teeth into, consider something fantastical like Dungeons and Dragons!
